The war of fears lasted forever, Under different names, different decades, Different generations, different enemies, different presidents, Different strategies, different technology. But it was the same war, it is the same war Remembering over seventy years ago We were hiding under school desks, Building underground shelters, Hating communists, hating immigrants Though we had no idea who or what they were, They were out to get us, they wanted what we didn't have But thought we could dream it, make it real if we didnt habe them Breathing down our necks They had no faces, like zombies they were always coming, Then the war spilled from our homes and tv sets over to east asia, middle east, far east, near East and eden east.
