Various commentary about the condition of the world as interpreted by twists and turning, mostly left.
It's hard to deal with the fact we live in a nation
It's Memorial Day 2025 and trump has spent his patriotic windfall day castigating Joe Biden and the last four years, which only means he is apologizing to his far right handlers that Joe Biden interrupted the original 2016 plan. Stephen Miller, Rush Limbaugh ( I know, he's dead) and all the fuckheads sitting like the devil on trumps shoulder, whispering sweet nothing pain into his ear, had to wrack their brains to come up with 2025, which, if you remember, is when the ogre took the presidency. I also wondering how old Joe, who for only reasons known by God, thought he was the One, the Big One, who would save us from Donald Trump.
They're both wrong of course, because it's J.D. Vance
Wow, I am being cynical today.
Sometimes, often, I forget I'm a veteran. I spent four years giving support to the idea that a nuclear exchange would be the best way to make sure the future was secure. And now I realize you, me, and we have all been suckers. I did realize early on, like right after I got out of the military that we all are pawns in the biggest, most dangerous game of the world's history.

Unfortunately for mankind and woman kind consciousn
Who is the enemy, who do you trust, who is going to fight which proxy wars for us or against us? Like the righteous brothers lament, you've lost that instinctual feeling.
The only real instincts seem to be crying when hungry, fear when frightened and given the amount of time, to crawl and get up on your feet and run like crazy. The supreme alien that put us here, or at least the one who put those crazy words in out head had to see we couldn't run faster than the lion, hear as good as the jackal, weren't as big as the dire wolf, so giving that much to evolution humans inVented their way to the gun.
Life is simple, isn't it?
That was the first thing I learned in anthropology is humans are tool makers out of necessity it seems. Humans are not content to idly sit by ( until recently in history) and watch the world go by or watch the world devour them, like the defenseless sheep, pre- weaponization era, which was sometime around Clovis spear head time. Humans learned early on that blood is more than pigment for cave drawings.
At some point humans divided into two main groups with many subheadings between the two. The two groups were the ones who wanted to stick by the water and enrich themselves off the natural environment and the other group wanted to be the suckers who leeched themselves off the other group.
The sedentary group learned to defend themselves and the other group learned offensive tactics of surprise, lying, cheating etc, attributes for getting what somebody else worked for.
It all got mixed up after a while so that now a days culture scientists like myself can only say the cities represent those who either work for or don't work at all for the takers ( remembering there are many subgroups between each of them, and the owners of the land who grow. The two main divisions in modern times are now realized the owners and possessors, both of which are hierarchical-the bosses and the workers so human kind has transitioned from freedom of survival to just being restricted by survival, no longer possessing instinct because instinct is more social than fear. Instinct tells us about trust, compromise, cooperation yet we've been led to believe that instinct tells us how to defend ourselves.
Mankind was not designed for individuality. Since the Cold War or communist revolution Americans especially, but capitalists everywhere inform us social(ism) is totalitarian, dictatorial when it is the exact opposite. They insist on believing that the mob(socialism) is chaos and individualism is creative and industrious. Art gets mixed up with industry. Everything the capitalists have common people (which they need a lot more than the common people need them) do separates and divides

Hope is not a real thing
“Nothing’s perfect, Nothing's forever ever, and Nothing's guaranteed.”
In many essays over the last few years I have complained about the democrats complacency about not coming to a consistent regard for (1) accepting that democracy itself is a war between factions and not a gentlemanly protocol riddled process, (2) the definition of "fascism", (3) the definition of "genocide", (4) how america can be a dictatorship even when politicians say it isn't.
Now we can question "justice". Since we now have a president that was impeached by the house twice, fomented revolution, pardoned convicted felons based on arbitrary reasoning, dictates by executive disorder, rebels against judicial decrees based on whim and indiscreet power.
It didn't start with him though. The use of executive action has been utilized many times by both democratic and republican presidents usually in matters of military "action" since we dont have real wars anymore. Most being by proxy, having others fight for you, used to be called mercenary but now its nations rather than private or state sanctioned armies. Then, Obama gave us too big to fail and now we have the power of executive action, dismissing Congress, which has slowly made itself irrelevant over the last few decades. Despite both republican and democratic congresses and presidents, the entire american politic has become dancing around the right of everybody to forsake the simplest gesture toward constituency "as a nation" and cater to the needs and greeds of small, corporate donors and corporate leaders.
As we add "no justice' to the list of america's failings, the likes of "no equality", taxation with no representation (except in the billionaire class), no due process, no freedom of speech, no sense as in common sense, no freedom from religion, no science, no place to go, we are mired in the administration of NO. As phil ochs sang, "you are born in the free world and in the free world you must stay."
We are as static as those primitive peoples who believed the world was coming to an end when there was an eclipse. Chanted, danced, cowered and that worked because it went away. Trump will go away because he's just a political eclipse, the only difference being that when he does, everything will be the same as before him, and that means 2028 will be between the likes of kamala harris and some nameless republican character, and maybe, harris will win, and we'll never know what genocide or fascism or freedom means, except for what they tell us it is.
There is no hope for america, or, at least, there shouldn't be.
I guess Hope will be the next thing democrats will try to offer up, let's all hope not.

Murder is Murder is Murder
I don't believe that the Ten Commandments or the bill of rights came from the mind of God or Man, they came out of centuries and millennia of human experience and since we're a dual nature beast (good along with the bad), both the Ten Commandments and the bill of rights can be and have been commandeered by the greedy and vengeful. It won't last forever but it starts another cycle of violence (of those who have had what's theirs taken) and vengeance (from those who have been victims).
Donald trump will die and because those who follow him will die as well, like anyone who follows ignorance blindly, and just like those who seek truth, justice and the American way. Truth and injustice dies, wanes and flows, just like ignorance ebbs and rises like the tides. Unfortunately, we are currently living in a virtual ice age of ignorance, although the question raised during World War Two about how could a civilized people such as the German people fall for a leader who obviously wanted to and did commit genocidal murder? It's possible I suppose that gods giving us a second chance to rectify that fateful decision eighty years ago by presenting us with a similar scenario, kind of like a game show, which Americans and I suppose, Israelis may be interested in.
Of course, innocent people anywhere don't deserve to die and in this case the gunman basically gave himself up so he will not kill again. But my question is, what does stop the assault/genocide in Gaza and really, no one of the responsible people for this assault/genocide will pay any price whatsoever. Israel's arms will not be thrown down and shouted "never again". Doesn't anyone understand that Israel will not stop because Israel is "mentally unstable" as a nation state and does not, is not capable of consciousness. The nation's that support Israel will not do anything to actually stop and, instead, will only exacerbate the atrocity. So, again, who or what is going to stop this?
Trump and AOC both condemn the murder of the Israeli's, while trump condemns South Africa for filing a genocide accusation in The Hague against Israel and is being accused of "genocide" by trump himself, on similar grounds. We flounder around the basic definitions of words, such as genocide, democracy, fascism, confusing meanings and making it impossible to reach any consensus, without consensus everybody is on their own. There will be more murders and impossible to end.
What we are witnessing, and, unfortunately, merely witnessing, is civilization's end. If we consider "civil society" as mankind's (sic) epitome of not only technology but how society is structured toward a more equitable ideology, we are hard pressed to discover when men actually did become civilized. But for the sake of argument, I'll say civil society everywhere has suffered.
So, here's another question. If the killing of two innocent Israeli embassy staff members won't bring an end to israeli's genocide and cannot be justified, will the murder of hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children (anywhere) resolve the aims of Israel's exceptional anti-humane ideals? If Israels aims are considered the same aims as supremacist ideologies everywhere will those aims or should those aims be tolerated, even if they didn't accomplish it behind murder, mayhem? All the arguments that can be made for not killing those two young innocent Israeli staff can also be made for any two Palestinians killed in the name of Israeli supremacy.
Who are they kidding?
Another question has to be, how many nations leaders will kowtow to trump in the White House as trumps fellow goons sit by observing?
I think God or some alien life form looking down on us, like a silent movie, are probably wondering what the plot is.

What's that, you say? Record deficit!
Glory Be, Hallelujah, So Be It
Since Harvard and everybody else is suing trump, I'm wondering who's doling out the lawsuit awards, trump or the american people?
I'm also wondering why nobody but me recognizes mental illness as the main personality trait of our government. What concerns me is it seems to be catching. People such as marco Rubio or J D Vance or Mike Johnson (and I could name many More but won't, you know who they are) used to be just political assholes but give an asshole *and a boy* power and suddenly they don't make any sense at all, just like the cult leader they follow. It's not a matter of the emperor wearing no clothes though he would probably prefer it that way, but is the emperor a complete assimilation of nero-like and a number of other wild-eyed greek, roman, and/or israeli/ romanian dark cave dwellers fiddling, burning and bloodying the world with their tongue in cheek.
Everytime I see Netanyahu he seems to have a smirk on his face. I think he sees the humor and irony of it all, like the little boy who catches the biggest fish first time out., so proud of himself cause Trump took the bait, even harder than all the previous US administrations. If hating the likes of Netanyahu and trump makes me anti-semitic and anti-american, then I say, Glory Be Hallalujah, So Be It.
They're all little boys, know nothing about how the world works, and they will eventually get theirs, even if it's just at their funerals and on that day there will be some rejoicing, which history probably won't record.
Finally, i have to say, the other thing that bothers me and which i hate also is all the sycophants of the above-named insane team, all the hidden venomous *commoners* who are relishing the pain and suffering a few Men and One Woman (there always has to be a woman) are dishing out. (The One Woman is simply all the women who support their fascist husbands, after all they are all the same, aren't they)
I can do it because i can do it.
God Works in Strange Ways
The war of words
has been renewed. Who got it wrong, who got it right? Got us arguing again
amongst ourselves (or is anybody really listening besides them
that are paid to argue?) between the CIA and the NSA. All I can say
is god works in strange ways and sometimes gives the edge to the
fascist. Did God produce Hitler (don't you get tired hearing about him) to give
the Jews a wakeup call? Go thou and get the sacred land and I'll make sure
though there will be travails but not much more than that. I
imagine god saying that to Netanyahu's dad.. But nothing can be perfect in an
imperfect world.
By the way, I'm reading about the cosmos as interpreted by Stephen hawking. he
consistently reiterates the fact that all our
beliefs, scientific and spiritual are prodded along with the support of one or
the other for instance when the Catholic Church finally came out of the science
closet and supports the Big bang theory, saying it does coincide with the Bible
rendition for all intents and purposes. For some reason, i dont think that's so comforting.
The Railroad Boys Share a Trailer
Here's a story from my most recent short book-I've Been Working On the Railroad, All the Live Long day
Poetry, Prose, and Stories.
You can get the whole 76-page book on Amazon, and although Amazon isn't on my favorite corporation list like it might be on yours, I try to believe I'm like most people and know Amazon, like all the other billionaire owned corporations are doing a hellava lot more damage and mischief than providing a service people generally like. I also know most people plug their noses and get things delivered. So, if you like the story, there's more and I get approx. $3.50 a book, so you can see I'm not expecting much nor getting rich off that. At least that's what's happened so far.
(Oh, by the way, there is profanity, and some political incorrectness because thats the way it is in real life, or even in made up life, so if it might bother you, exercise your freedom to decide on your own to continue. There's way too much tattle tailing these days and way too little disrespect for authority)
The Age of the Gizmo
Technology
The age of the gizmo.
That starts in the dirt of many nations where children, men, and women scrounge for cobalt, titanium, gold, diamonds and other precious resources, which will be the beginnings of the The Gizmo connected to the whatchamacallit, inserted into the thingamachig, which when complete, goes to peoria to be hooked up to the gadget, which came from a factory in hoboken, welded to a dogeared sheet, attached via remote control ai to a chip, manufactured in silicon valley, configured and detoxified by a technician in reno nevada, driven to las vegas, stored until further use in a secret facility to be shipped to one of americas proxy nations, usually in the form of a weaponized explosive device.
Here's to all the men and women so far detached from what they do, congratulations, you have just built a weapon which will eventually be used to kill, maim, and destroy human flesh or maybe the man, woman, or child who dug in the dirt for a dream of finding the way to freedom.
The cogs in the machine that keep industry rolling along.
Cog immigrants.
If I'm an anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, why do i want to see millions of people forced to leave their own homeland because they can't work or can't survive, come here and become cogs in the manufacturing and disbursement of the greatest killing machine the world has ever known? And like their citizen brethren, be totally unaware of their part as toads, and gizmo connectors.
Yes, work will set you free but your work may also kill somebody else.
Corporations and militaries don't care about the child labor in africa or south america or both chinas that digs the cobalt to make the gizmo that makes its way to cheap labor outlets worldwide, heres to the future of america.
FISA and self-serve arrest and deportation
(This is something old but since it goes to 2026, it is the future. Also, an example of how democrats and republicans cooperate to make sure nothing ever really changes, but dont take my word for it, check out who voted for this back in 2024)
News shorts
Foreign intelligence surveillance act (FISA) which was set to expire april 19, 2024 is extended to 2026.
Section 702 allows the government to collect electronic communication of non americans located outside the country without a warrant (which we don't care about right?) however, that sometimes results in collection of data on actual, real americans who may have accidentally or unknowingly brushed up against some un/non american being surveilled.
Now being the skeptic i be, I'm wondering why those countries which are having citizens being spied on by the us aren't speaking up or don't care.
So, for those who might consider the original FISA act disquieting and its extension in a similar light might be confused though by its bi partisan support but by donald trumps edict to "kill fisa".
"What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive." Sir walter scott. 1808 scotts play. Marmion: A Tale of Flodden Field
Fisa passed, fastrak is being expanded. It's interesting that our cars are going to be, if they aren't now, the main tracking device for law enforcement.
Those who have driven in parts of California have a right to be amazed that by simple crossing a bridge, along with thousands of other cars, automatically will generate a bill for the toll, sent to the registered address of the car. You also get a photo which usually fuzzy and out of focus will show your car crossing that electronic beam.
When i was younger, before fastrak but after the implementation of toll bridges, whenever i didn't have cash ( but gas was cheap), id try to find the non toll path from one side of the bay area to the other. If worse came to worse though, the last alternative was to stop at the manned toll booth office located at the bridge, where you could declare your poverty and pay by card, or if extreme poverty, have a bill sent to you.
Now, of course, having the opportunity to either talk face to face or by phone any representative of any entitled service or expected change has gone the way of the dinosaur.
It won't be long now before we receive a warrant for our arrest and a request to go to your nearest police station, turn yourself in, bring your attorney if you have one, and the justice system will go into effect.
If you are going to run, now would be the time to do it because the knock on your door will be coming and resisting arrest will be your new offense. Police will have carte blanche, as usual, once they have to play an up-close personal role in trying to get you to court.
Where should we stand?
If we say war is never justified in a truly humanitarian world where every human being is no more no less valued than any other, then we are on the side of history that's aligned with all the humanitarian, social justice ideals ever thought or believed.
That puts us in the bullseye of the rest who control try to control us as well as control all the reasons for war, capitalism, and fascism.
Israel along with its torturing ally, the united states, has redefined warfare in the past seven decades. The imperial arm of the us over the decades by cia sponsored guerrilla operations throughout the world, the weaponization of "friendly" terrorists (such as al queda, taliban, shite, shia) in order to further worldwide resistance to any other national aggression, and the state authorized development of torture and black sites to coerce information.
The weaponization of allies has now become an outed foreign policy supported by nearly all politicians, as well as citizens.
Progressive politics has become a straw dog, a mere ideological paper tiger, to provide the semblance of balance in american politics.
The supposed fact that kamala harris had the support of moderate republicans (those are the ones who, along with right leaning democrats have masterminded the decades long slow and obstructed democratic legislative process) and former right wing, fascist republican officials like dick cheney, simply means we are already locked into more years of backward thinking.
There are only two choices. Those who will vote for either one of the major candidates will get the same result from either one and those who make the choice to not support either of these candidates not only should stand together but remain strong in solidarity with humanitarian interests rather than nationalistic ones.
Believe me when I say that here in mid 2025, we've not seen the last of the old democratic party attempts to resurrect themselves, using the growing, incoherent policies of trump rhetoric and failures of his type of fascism, which, unfortunately, will affect the US for years to come no matter what happens in the midterms.
Vote humanitarian or dont vote at all. If you want certain things, you have to vote for the people who want those things as well, not the people who think there is a common-sense gray area between the practical, secure, and the anti-genocide, anti-fascist, egalitarian world. There is not.
World War Three?? Are We there yet?
Can I believe What I’m
Seeing?
It appears to me
What I’m seeing
Is World War three.
Nor the conflict between
superpowers it was meant to be
I was never taught how many
nations must be fighting,
If This is to be World War three
But I believe if I count the
mere conflicts between sects, religions, politics,
The sanctioned, the regime
changes, the no fly zones,
plus the rock throwers vs the police onslaughts
The ancient run-down armies
of dictators vs the stealth technologies,
The economic principals of
the greedy vs the middle class,
Fought on the streets,
The nations that step aside,
the defined dictators who are foes,
The undefined dictators who
don’t need to go,
According to the principals
of choosing sides.
Must be World War three. Not
up there somewhere in the future,
But finally, here.
Not the holocaust so not a new day of resurrection,
When we emerge from our bomb
shelters
Fresh and neatly dressed for
a new dawn.
No, not that World War three.
Just a forever, endless war.
That spreads like thick blood
from the self-inflicted wristcuts of humanity.
All He Wanted...
You can talk
all you want about the glories of war, but you have to go to Washington d.c.
and look at the wall and cemeteries there to see who died and the price one has
to pay.
It’s true
dead men tell no tales we need to keep, for those who sacrifice for the sham of
artifice and lie, we can only weep.
Their woes are
imprisoned in the unbeating hearts of other men who live on without him, who gild
this dirty history, like a secret society, sworn to never reveal what we
already know, they glean their riches from young men’s dreams. And young
women’s souls.
All he ever wanted
was to be a good, hard-working auto mechanic. To live out his simple dream in
the landscape of milk and honey.
He could
have done that in any country on earth, yet his call to duty was framed in a false
glory of a made-up story, his martyrdom already guaranteed as he lay far away in
the mud, in a valley of green, a bloody battlefield in a place he never would
have imagined he’d be, had he lived and died in the way he dreamed.
Failure and Renovation is the Name of the Game
Every country, at some point, which nurtures and/or
tolerates hate for the sake of it’s own security will eventually be unable to
control it over time and, as we always are used to saying, it always comes back and bites them
in the ass. Of course, that’s not enough to know to keep revolutionaries of all
stripes from acting up, usually too little too late, because change is Time,
and a scientific expression of ennui and obsolescence, for it is, unfortunately,
the nature of Man (swallow that as best you can) to be both good and bad,
usually at the same time.
Good and bad is a relative term, invented by the first
precursors to the bilateral nature of the world, religions. All religions and
beliefs, with the possible exception of
Buddhism and Marxism and other similar, more secular, spiritual beliefs which say
Man must deal with unhappiness or oppression
by different means other than focusing on sin, punishment, and retribution. It might be better to say, Man is a divided
being that is destined to struggle between being like an ant and wishing they
are gods, stuck between survival(hell) and yet capable of imagining a time when
survival is not necessary (heaven).
Religions, once again, remind us that not everyone can rise
to the heights of their imagination and the State, which in modern times has
taken over, in many respects, the need for religion, tells us that some get
more, some get nothing, but that it doesn’t have anything to do with our
nature, its due to some have it and most don’t.
A whole institution has been developed out of this manufactured
belt line religious/state concept that determines whose authority we must
accept, even those who think they’re free are not allowed to believe they are
not free. It certainly takes all the
greatest minds of the modern age to put that humpty dumpty back together again.
I refer you to the classic essay, Ant Wars, somewhere in this blogs archives.
The significance of Man in the universe couldn’t be any more
insignificant, no matter how far into space we try to reach. It’s really for
our entertainment but, once you take the blinders off, anyone can see it’s for
their entertainment and supposedly a demonstration of their so called supremacy, though certainly a
limited one. Man always reaches toward the promise of sterility, which goes to
show how stupid Man is because the world may look like a messy place, it’s
still beautiful, more beautiful than the hidden, sunken, managed waste pre and post industrial heaps that civilization manufactures,
worthless shit, practically obsolete before its utilized. Overproduced, underutilized,
timed out products based on fads, dreams, desires, impatient imaginations.
The War of Fears
The war of fears lasted forever,
Under different names, different decades,
Different generations, different enemies, different presidents,
Different strategies, different technology.
But it was the same war, it is the same war
Remembering over seventy years ago
We were hiding under school desks,
Building underground shelters,
Hating communists, hating immigrants
Though we had no idea who or what they were,
They were out to get us, they wanted what we didn't have
But thought we could dream it, make it real if we didn't have them
Breathing down our necks
They had no faces, like zombies they were always coming,
Then the war spilled from our homes and tv sets over to east asia, middle east, far east, near
East and eden east.
All i saw then was myself fighting myself,
As one who sees the self,
Couldn't see others other than myself.
but others saw others and apparently could kill them as others
Could kill them without killing themselves,
As others who kill others see themselves as
My enemy, the same as me, but also like me, who they could not kill,
Same form, same chemistry, same made in gods image,
And yet they kill each other, little by little
In their spirit and soul,
Their wounds and deaths,
Like all wounds and death, forever together forever
In the same heaven, same hell, same prism cell
No one has ever seen, in a victory no one ever feels,
On battlefields far, far from home
Where no one ever wants to be,
Now there aren't any real communists, if there ever was,
like there was never a santa claus, toothfairy, nor gods favorite national spelling bee
There are only capitalists, which there were always here,
Grown men of every star and stripe but with only one power-money- throwing out all the lies,
Making sure we never come from beneath the desks and shelter
they built from our fears.
Softly, whisper
It's not worth it,
Our entire lives watching them fight
Just stop it,
Stop
