World War Three?? Are We there yet?

 

Can I believe What I’m Seeing?

It appears to me

What I’m seeing

Is World War three.

 It’s not the nuclear holocaust I was taught to believe

Nor the conflict between superpowers it was meant to be

I was never taught how many nations must be fighting,

If This is to be World War three

But I believe if I count the mere conflicts between sects, religions, politics,

The sanctioned, the regime changes, the no fly zones,

plus the rock throwers vs the police onslaughts

The ancient run-down armies of dictators vs the stealth technologies,

The economic principals of the greedy vs the middle class,

Fought on the streets,

The nations that step aside, the defined dictators who are foes,

The undefined dictators who don’t need to go,

According to the principals of choosing sides.

 All this I can finally see

Must be World War three. Not up there somewhere in the future,

But finally, here.

Not the holocaust so not a new day of resurrection,

When we emerge from our bomb shelters

Fresh and neatly dressed for a new dawn.

No, not that World War three.

 Just a forever, endless war.

That spreads like thick blood from the self-inflicted wristcuts of humanity.
