As we become inured to another world war, this one, labeled the west (which includes, well, hmm, the west vs Iran, though I'm not sure how many countries must be included to embrace the "world war" title. In this one, we have numerous Muslim states who have subjugated themselves to America and Israel's interests which I always understood was antithetical to the existence of Islam, but in today's world, anything goes, and we have Europe which hopes by their meek cooperation to convince America to spend a little more time and mostly money on Ukraine, rather than Zion. Then, we have an odd conundrum of Russia and China supposedly helping Iran with intelligence and drones while Trump relaxes sanctions on Russia and Iran so they can sell oil to the oil starved nations of the free world, that is, the nations opposed to Iran.
There is also Pakistan, Turkey, Spain, India, and Ukraine, Houthi, Hezbollah, and a host of pro/anti Iran militias, all contributing a little different version of compliance/non-compliance.
There is so much duplicity, anxiety, and double speak between all these parties, once again, I'm flummoxed but, and it's a small 'but', just now I've been able to use two new words in my reserved journalistic lexicon-inured and flummoxed.
We certainly can't forget that Israel seems to be outdoing itself once again. Its daily bombardment of Iran and Lebanon, stonewalling on the parenthetical "peace" process in Palestine, and almost a complete mastering of the Israeli population that daily retreats into bomb shelters with bowling alleys, that's how prepared they are, though the question being, are they prepared to be the second nation in history to utilize a nuclear bomb to further their heavenly aspirations.
The world holds its abated breath.
As for the American public, I can't empathize too much and can't sympathize at all. Though I ostracize myself from America's investment in a world which holds only a morbid curiosity for me as a helpless citizen of any of those nations involved, No Kings March Day, notwithstanding.
I can still take my grandkids to their respective playgrounds or recommend their involvement in some sort of educational institution or making sure that a job or skill they apply for, can take them anywhere in the world, and should be better than a job requiring a psychological profile of a sociopath. Hmm, I may have to take that back. Sociopaths seem to be as adaptable to today's world as a nurse or carpenter.
