It's hard to deal with the fact we live in a nation

It's hard to deal with the fact we live in a nation of total buffoonery rather than the half to three quarters we're used to.
It's Memorial Day 2025 and trump has spent his patriotic windfall day castigating Joe Biden and the last four years, which only means he is apologizing to his far right handlers that Joe Biden interrupted the original 2016 plan. Stephen Miller, Rush Limbaugh ( I know, he's dead) and all the fuckheads sitting like the devil on trumps shoulder, whispering sweet nothing pain into his ear, had to wrack their brains to come up with 2025, which, if you remember, is when the ogre took the presidency. I also wondering how old Joe, who for only reasons known by God, thought he was the One, the Big One, who would save us from Donald Trump.
They're both wrong of course, because it's J.D. Vance
Wow, I am being cynical today.
Sometimes, often, I forget I'm a veteran. I spent four years giving support to the idea that a nuclear exchange would be the best way to make sure the future was secure. And now I realize you, me, and we have all been suckers. I did realize early on, like right after I got out of the military that we all are pawns in the biggest, most dangerous game of the world's history.

Unfortunately for mankind and woman kind consciousn

Unfortunately for mankind and woman kind consciousness and knowledge too isn't passed on to each other through osmosis or genes, only instinct is, so that with each child born limited to whatever the community wants or needs, and with each one have to start all over again..
Who is the enemy, who do you trust, who is going to fight which proxy wars for us or against us? Like the righteous brothers lament, you've lost that instinctual feeling.

The only real instincts seem to be crying when hungry, fear when frightened and given the amount of time, to crawl and get up on your feet and run like crazy. The supreme alien that put us here, or at least the one who put those crazy words in out head had to see we couldn't run faster than the lion, hear as good as the jackal, weren't as big as the dire wolf, so giving that much to evolution humans inVented their way to the gun.
Life is simple, isn't it?
That was the first thing I learned in anthropology is humans are tool makers out of necessity it seems. Humans are not content to idly sit by ( until recently in history) and watch the world go by or watch the world devour them, like the defenseless sheep, pre- weaponization era, which was sometime around Clovis spear head time. Humans learned early on that blood is more than pigment for cave drawings.
At some point humans divided into two main groups with many subheadings between the two. The two groups were the ones who wanted to stick by the water and enrich themselves off the natural environment and the other group wanted to be the suckers who leeched themselves off the other group.
The sedentary group learned to defend themselves and the other group learned offensive tactics of surprise, lying, cheating etc, attributes for getting what somebody else worked for.
It all got mixed up after a while so that now a days culture scientists like myself can only say the cities represent those who either work for or don't work at all for the takers ( remembering there are many subgroups between each of them, and the owners of the land who grow. The two main divisions in modern times are now realized the owners and possessors, both of which are hierarchical-the bosses and the workers so human kind has transitioned from freedom of survival to just being restricted by survival, no longer possessing instinct because instinct is more social than fear. Instinct tells us about trust, compromise, cooperation yet we've been led to believe that instinct tells us how to defend ourselves.
Mankind was not designed for individuality. Since the Cold War or communist revolution Americans especially, but capitalists everywhere inform us social(ism) is totalitarian, dictatorial when it is the exact opposite. They insist on believing that the mob(socialism) is chaos and individualism is creative and industrious. Art gets mixed up with industry. Everything the capitalists have common people (which they need a lot more than the common people need them) do separates and divides

Hope is not a real thing

“Nothing’s perfect, Nothing's forever ever, and Nothing's guaranteed.”

In many essays over the last few years I have complained about the democrats complacency about not coming to a consistent regard for (1) accepting that democracy itself is a war between factions and not a gentlemanly protocol riddled process, (2) the definition of "fascism", (3) the definition of "genocide", (4) how america can be a dictatorship even when politicians say it isn't.

Now we can question "justice". Since we now have a president that was impeached by the house twice, fomented revolution, pardoned convicted felons based on arbitrary reasoning, dictates by executive disorder, rebels against judicial decrees based on whim and indiscreet power.

It didn't start with him though. The use of executive action has been utilized many times by both democratic and republican presidents usually in matters of military "action" since we dont have real wars anymore. Most being by proxy, having others fight for you, used to be called mercenary but now its nations rather than private or state sanctioned armies. Then, Obama gave us too big to fail and now we have the power of executive action, dismissing Congress, which has slowly made itself irrelevant over the last few decades. Despite both republican and democratic congresses and presidents, the entire american politic has become dancing around the right of everybody to forsake the simplest gesture toward constituency "as a nation" and cater to the needs and greeds of small, corporate donors and corporate leaders.

As we add "no justice' to the list of america's failings, the likes of "no equality", taxation with no representation (except in the billionaire class), no due process, no freedom of speech, no sense as in common sense, no freedom from religion, no science, no place to go, we are mired in the administration of NO. As phil ochs sang, "you are born in the free world and in the free world you must stay."

We are as static as those primitive peoples who believed the world was coming to an end when there was an eclipse. Chanted, danced, cowered and that worked because it went away. Trump will go away because he's just a political eclipse, the only difference being that when he does, everything will be the same as before him, and that means 2028 will be between the likes of kamala harris and some nameless republican character, and maybe, harris will win, and we'll never know what genocide or fascism or freedom means, except for what they tell us it is.

There is no hope for america, or, at least, there shouldn't be.

I guess Hope will be the next thing democrats will try to offer up, let's all hope not.

Everybody is a nobody

Everybody is a nobody
Democracy is a horse race without any winner.
What we should be doing is making sure that the political philosophy of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, both Clintons, and even the beloved black president, whose name escapes me at the moment, oh yeah, Barack Obama, all of whom have betrayed the modern world, which needs to escape the suffocating prison-like  void all the greedy, selfish, and godless men who mimic and expose themselves in a mirror.
Israel looks like a desolate place from every angle.
America failed in Korea, failed in Vietnam, failed in Afghanistan, failed in Iraq, and now we are failing in Israel and in the war of economic reprisals.
How much failure can Americans take and still do nothing, think nothing is wrong, except the nuisance of having a president with the mentality of a leprechaun? Sorry, Irish, but he's about gold, luck, and four leaf clovers as politics.
It's all a bad screenplay of atlas shrugged being acted out
Kehlani is the latest in a long line of artists, writers and academics who are Palestinian or who have spoken out about Palestinian rights who have faced event cancellations and other retaliation amid the genocide. Recently, Irish band Kneecap faced a deluge of negative press and threats of legal retaliation from U.K. authorities after speaking out for Palestinian rights during a performance at Coachella, in California.
Do you have the right to have a gun? That's a question we all can ask ourselves while we contemplate the dismantling of free speech. I, personally, have felt that even hate ( right wing ) speech should for the most part be tolerated as free speech because  of what's happening right now in regards to what is being prosecuted as anti-semitism speech. Also the cancellations of artists ( musicians, entertainers) etc is closely aligned to the McCarthy era prosecution of "communist" speech.
Of all the bill of rights freedom of speech, assembly, and that sort gets the most attention. That's why it's called the first amendment. It's the second amendment which should be eliminated. When the revolution comes, it's not the gangs, trump ers, militias and other mentals who will save the union. I think that's become more than obvious lately, trying to get the public to believe that those who profess the grand illusion that gun owners are watching over the country and preventing the federal government from dictatorship. Actually, it's just the opposite. If we assumed that guns are protecting the other bill of rights, and not the articles of the constitution, which most of the right is constantly railing about, then anti-freedom of speech, is obviously being government directed would be the first protected amendment.
I should probably mention for all the idiots, democrats and republicans, and I suppose, progressives and fascists too, that I don't see freedom of speech being yelling fire in a theater when there is no fire nor writing " nigger" on someone's garage door nor approaching someone on the street and yelling profanities in their face.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise ther of; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
There it is. As clear, more clear than the second amendment.
Before and after the English Bill of Rights, which were the legal basis for the second amendment, the government could, can, and does disarm any individual or class of individuals it considers dangerous to the peace of the realm. (Partial Wikipedia)

Murder is Murder is Murder

Murder is murder. It doesn't matter that two are Jews and two are Palestinians. I'm sorry but it doesn't make a difference if one murder is sanctioned by the state and justified by the hate of any one group or another sanctified by conscience. Self defense doesn't extend infinitely out from your wellbeing simply because of your beliefs.
I don't believe that the Ten Commandments or the bill of rights came from the mind of God or Man, they came out of centuries and millennia of human experience and since we're a dual nature beast (good along with the bad), both the Ten Commandments and the bill of rights can be and have been commandeered by the greedy and vengeful. It won't last forever but it starts another cycle of violence (of those who have had what's theirs taken) and vengeance (from those who have been victims).
Donald trump will die and because those who follow him will die as well, like anyone who follows ignorance blindly, and just like those who seek truth, justice and the American way. Truth and injustice dies, wanes and flows, just like ignorance ebbs and rises like the tides. Unfortunately, we are currently living in a virtual ice age of ignorance, although the question raised during World War Two about how could a civilized people such as the German people fall for a leader who obviously wanted to and did commit genocidal murder? It's possible I suppose that gods giving us a second chance to rectify that fateful decision eighty years ago by presenting us with a similar scenario, kind of like a game show, which Americans and I suppose, Israelis may be interested in.
The reaction to the killing of two Israeli embassy staff in Washington d c can be canned into the usual nonsense that these killings will not end the assault/ genocide on Gaza, which nearly everyone can see is horrible.
Of course, innocent people anywhere don't deserve to die and in this case the gunman basically gave himself up so he will not kill again. But my question is, what does stop the assault/genocide in Gaza and really, no one of the responsible people for this assault/genocide will pay any price whatsoever. Israel's arms will not be thrown down and shouted "never again". Doesn't anyone understand that Israel will not stop because Israel is "mentally unstable" as a nation state and does not, is not capable of consciousness. The nation's that support Israel will not do anything to actually stop and, instead, will only exacerbate the atrocity. So, again, who or what is going to stop this?
Trump and AOC both condemn the murder of the Israeli's, while trump condemns South Africa for filing a genocide accusation in The Hague against Israel and is being accused of "genocide" by trump himself, on similar grounds. We flounder around the basic definitions of words, such as genocide, democracy, fascism, confusing meanings and making it impossible to reach any consensus, without consensus everybody is on their own. There will be more murders and impossible to end.
What we are witnessing, and, unfortunately, merely witnessing, is civilization's end. If we consider "civil society" as mankind's (sic) epitome of not only technology but how society is structured toward a more equitable ideology, we are hard pressed to discover when men actually did become civilized. But for the sake of argument, I'll say civil society everywhere has suffered.
So, here's another question. If the killing of two innocent Israeli embassy staff members won't bring an end to israeli's genocide and cannot be justified, will the murder of hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children (anywhere) resolve the aims of Israel's exceptional anti-humane ideals? If Israels aims are considered the same aims as supremacist ideologies everywhere will those aims or should those aims be tolerated, even if they didn't accomplish it behind murder, mayhem? All the arguments that can be made for not killing those two young innocent Israeli staff can also be made for any two Palestinians killed in the name of Israeli supremacy.
Who are they kidding?
Another question has to be, how many nations leaders will kowtow to trump in the White House as trumps fellow goons sit by observing?
I think God or some alien life form looking down on us, like a silent movie, are probably wondering what the plot is.

What's that, you say? Record deficit!

Ha! They haven't seen nothing yet. We didn't even have a war in 1982 but the defense dept got big, beautiful amounts and some people, I wonder who, got big tax cuts.
