Miscellaneous While We Wait

My gawd, you can murder 75000 people but don't smash the ceramic head of jesus, when he's down on his luck.

i hope the current world war inspires more readings of shakespeare and mein kampf. King Lear meets Adolf, or Hamlet meets Goebbels. Maybe even the illiad/odyssey poetry. Siege at Troy with heroes Achilles and other gods messing with Helen. Rumors in the auxiliary media are spreading that trump has gone full shakespearian mode, a true mad tyrant, poisoned by his own self-aggrandizement. I'm thinking a military coup now, but a gentle one demanding fucking congress do its job and send him and his constitutional and international law wrecking crew out the door.

I've just been reading a book about John Wilkes Booth, though what made the book interesting was its central theme being a fictionalized version of the Booth family growing up, little john wilkes and the effects of the assassination on the family aftermath rather than just on the wayward son and hated president. Lincoln himself illustrates the confusion in america at the time. American history books portray him as either a saintly figure or a much-hated personality depending on which side of the mason dixon line you were on, attitudes to this day still reverberate across the political spectrum, as if both hero worship and hate travel through bloodstreams and time rather than just empty minds.

Right now, the world is in a lull, waiting for the next boot to free fall, but isn't that the way it's always been?

The answer is Yes, if you're hesitant.

I have no insider information to convey, only the relentless, exaggerated claims of many utube podcasters and patriotic exclamations by corporate media. Blaming or defending trump, exercising free speech profanity, fostering trumps chest pounding exploits and foibles and stupidity, prognosticating his downfall doesn't move the world forward ho, at all. America is a slow wagon train going nowhere, wrapped in alcoholic, gun addicted fantasies. Yet, it's still intriguing to me how so many average, professional looking people still see him as someone to emulate and how many self-hero worshipping fools believe he isnt a true coward with an army to back him up.

At my most hopeful, I'm hoping all this will show the world how ridiculous the whole nuclear arms race has been, and how close we have come to the cliffs edge or to midnight in the apocalyptic clock. Don't get me wrong though, i don't have much faith in humanity. There're still far too many guns and missiles in the wrong hands.
