Living in America is like being a child in a house with many other siblings and a couple of abusive parents, where you think you're a little bit safer since there are 300 + million people, you're a alot less likely to be singled out because the chances you're going to be picked for retribution are a lot less. lets see if I have this right. Climate change is an existential threat (from here on I'll abbreviate Existential Threat, ET). The United States is the one country that could initiate a solution to that ET and nothing was done for four years going on fifty years to affect that threat. Now, Iran is an ET as far as Israel is concerned. Israel has several dozen nuclear weapons. It wants to penetrate and destroy the deeply buried Fodrow Nuclear Facility and eliminate other potential uranium enrichment sites in Iran that has had nuclear power facilities as long as Israel. The whole question of the use of nuclear weapons (except Hiroshima and Nagasaki) is to threaten then use the weapons against the highest principles of self-defense-against what? - an ET. Recant the incantation. I've been watching and listening to alot of you tube dissenters, but mostly the Young Turks, who I actually like most of the time but recently they had an episode trying to recycle the "I love America, but not what America does" incantation in order to alleviate concerns, I suppose, of regular people who listen to their righteous spiel, yet think they may be anti-American as well as anti-Semitic. Frankly, I don't know what America is. It's kind of like Gertrude Stein's statement about Oakland, "There is no there, there." Don't get me wrong, I like Oakland in the same way I think of America. Shame Here's one problem with democrats and democrat constituents. Shame. I don't feel sorry for those who don't vote because they are ashamed to vote on benefit type of issues. Medicade, Snap. Social Security, Free public education. Regulations to protect the health, and, possibly the most important, vote to protect the constitutional rights of due process and justice for all. If you can't arise above lessor issues, such as the ones that only affect you, to unite over the most important issues of your lifetime, then so be it. Don't be ashamed.  It is inevitable that countries whose social umbrella groups have depended on US aid to support poor, economically oppressed sections of their population are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to getting or not getting support from the United States. Those monies are rarely "discoverable" or able to be traced. If money really got to the people or things that it was destined for, it would be a miracle. Besides, people in the world who suffer have to learn that they have power and reliance on superpower "gifting" is not a power. Here is contribution from Frank Andrick, a sixties memorialist and memory master. I love these particular moments in music and poetic history though like others say about this song by Steppenwolf didn’t get the attention other songs did, I think, because it was political.
