We've Already Seen the Burning

we've already seen the burning monks and children alive,

we've already seen destroyed cities all of our lives,

body bags homeward bound, politicians always compromised.

snipers in the windows on newark ave, next to buildings burning,

killers of all stars and stripes, flags, and insignias, corporate towers tumbling to the ground

read the history books of the razing of greenwood, slavery, apartheid, occupations, and torture chambers abound

who would think we'd still be surprised. Aghast at our own stupidity.

old civilizations praised in history books,

ideas of democracy and freedom compromised,

what was then is not now, hope has always gone unrealized.

we already saw all the pictures, videos, film,

already read and heard the excuses, the constitutions reasonings, a government no longer believing in anything.

we don't need any more proof of their mutually assured destruction, their fully loaded hypocrisy,

not far enough into the future can we see, to be sure, with certainty, what can be said with surety, tomorrow is not the end nor is it the first day of the rest of your life.

we're all born into this life of strife the same as a squirming rat,

we should be thankful we've not been branded with a corporate logo yet,

before we know it, we've got pubic hair, breasts and years by gone bye,

between us and them, there's a wide countryside of sweat, blood, and tears.

we're expected to take up the gun in their defense, produce broken dreams for their tears and give our babies to protect us from future fears.

on the refuse heavy edge of the blue, grey sour mediterranean,

ancient sea of civilizations born and died, waves slap the sandy shore, polluted by the futures stillborn roar,

rise and fall, upon broken walls and scattered fragments,

lay the remnants of old palestine,

further away, boats of refugees, migrations wrought from hopeless salvation out of Libya, greece, thrace and persia,

where deciduous rhymes of homer and ovid still reverb amongst the dunes

filled the brim of human cargo, fake gods wandering with homesick tenderness,

a nightmare for the ages.

not long gone, yet always gone, defined as irrelevant.

erase the nakba, deny the occupations,

there's a palestinian woman always standing on a landscape of rubble, being tearfully poetic about nightmares she has, her children gone, her family disappeared

she wasn't there on October 7th

are these just dreams she'll never awake from; all will all be as she remembers it.

nakba, sanctions, punishment, from which another army is born

from Gettysburg, wounded knee, hiroshima, to dresden, auschwitz, nakba, occupation, war, rwanda, gangland civil wars, sanctions against the innocent,

where would we be without these men who persist in sting like mad bees, far from their nest, the honey secure, but,

there's always the threat, more in their poisoned mind than from us.

nothing i write nor speak today say what needs to to be said

it's all outrage, words cannot be felt, no heal nor sway.

words forbidden, restrained by bad faith reason nor able to flow like a wild river ribboned to a sea of dreams

they are useless, like their words. they are incantations, rituals, like their words. they do not soothe savage beasts.

the apocalypse came to a small israeli town,

then went on to savage a world in the name of revenge.

the day of the apocalypse came and went, came and went.

the apocalypse came to a ukranian town, stayed around, what goes around, has not gone away since.

these self-proclaimed geniuses who run the world by their moral absence,

take their turns as their moment arrives, peace on a platter,

like the head of john the baptist,

to play the warning bells, many will suffer as they have forever

oh, if only those bright boys would turn the guns upon themselves,

we praise the dawning of a new day,

instead, we allow them taking us to the edge of the vulture's land, the promised broken land

those who cannot walk away, be carried or have to stay,

They will be left to only pray, "never again" they will say,

too late, too late, more hate is already on the way.

we've already seen it before.

Back to the Stone Ages

These are cruel and sadistic men who run the world,

With their blind, deaf, and mute see no evil accomplices.

There is no religion, philosophy, no common sense that goes beyond the politic, displacing the revengeful minds of those who rule the world.

The mentality that oppresses all of us, psychological, where the oppressed become the oppressor. Violence begets violence. An eye for an eye.

The siege begins. No time to bury the dead. Revenge is in the mourning of the living. Empathy for those like us, death for those who are not. Empathy, patriotism,

Sending gaza to the stone ages. The chosen people. Israel already in the stone ages. The stone ages are more than technology, suits and ties, it's in the head, man. It's in the heads of men who rule this world.

Zionism is Jewish supremacy, nazi turned on its head.

Fanon in his work "The Wretched of the Earth" writes about the relationship and types of violence between the colonized and the colonizers. The violence, he states, of the colonizer is inherent in the colonizer, in the system of oppression colonization entails. At the time, Fanon was writing more about the French, Algerian colonial experience. At the time, bombs and terrorist tactics were being carried out in France and against French targets in Algeria. The response by France was, of course, just as horrible, more so with sanctions, economic total warfare against the entire algerian colony.

Fanons analysis of the repetoire of violence perpetuated by colonizers over colonies was pretty much accurate to the point, factual and applied to modern day situations such as israels colonial/apartheid control over Palestinians.

Denial of this control is really the problem, in fact, denial of this relationship makes all the us and european unconditional support of

Israel makes them all complicit in whatever happens there. This merely exacerbates the problem since international law, justice, acceptable colonial standards which all the supporting states have adopted, evolved through centuries are mounted against any freedom fights or rebellions.

This attitude was also the acceptance by these same powers of Hitler 's rise to power in the 30s. Fascism is not on any of any colonial state's unacceptable list. Why is that? Because fascism is the tool of oppression.

Look at the difference in what happened thus far. Hamas is reacting against the violence perpetuated against the Palestinians everyday by the Israeli colonizer/ apartheid. Only reactive, outside of that reaction, they have no claims to overturning power, overthrowing Israel, their actions more like sending the bully (Israel) a message.

So how is that violence, horrible as it is, but restricted by ability and lack of power, different than the violence of Israel. Is Israel restrained by limitations of even a reasonable assessment of what their own actions over the last few weeks, few years, few decades that implicate themselves and which the immoral support of the western world have wrought.

Thats like leaving the insane free to roam the mad land.

The mad world vs the suffering world.

I've mentioned before that a general strike which requires tremendous suffering and strength, could be averted all together if people used their vote, demanding a moral representation rather than a political one. To think that all this in our country is the division between two political parties who together have brought this country (and other countries with similar inter fraternal, patriarchic differences.

The solutions are always violence- how much, what kind?

How can there be a solution when only one side in the palestinian-israeli conflict isn't justified in violence against the other? If only one side has a right to defend itself based on some universal guilt that the western world that they not only failed to help the jews in ww2 but who participated in the worldwide hatred of the jews. That guilt has created a mental, psychological, necrotic social tumor and the using of israel and other nations, as ploys for greed and self-serving interests.

An enclave, open aired prison, genocidal, inhumane not one significant description of gaza as having any allowed political organization whatsoever.

The fight for political capital.

Palestine, a humanitarian desert, devoid of any civil society, definitely an open-air prison.

Our obsession with statistics. I'm sure all the deaths are going to be inflated or deflated, depending on the political capital that can be achieved, although nothing the palestinians can do has any political capital.

Critique on the Revolutions Reported or Be Careful What You Ask For.

Critique on the Revolutions Reported or Be Careful What You Ask For.

I’ve been critical of the so called ‘revolutions’ taking place around the globe recently, including the Occupy movement of a couple of years ago. They are so-called social media revolutions because they were built on the availability of social media to engage many people that may not have ever been engaged. As we’ve seen the revolutions in Northern Africa slip from the news, the Occupy Movement slip from having any relevance at all, and Egypt, Syria, Ukraine, and other nation states, some newsworthy and some not, slip into and out of chaos, my criticism seems well founded.

I’m only critical of how all these mass movements became reported, analyzed, and prognosticated by the media which supposedly supported or reported on them. We have reached a point in our history where mass media (free press) has been accepted as the main stay of a free society, such as we like to describe ours, without any real criticism as to whether or not it is really free.

We have total freedom when it comes to the use of guns, can watch sexual intercourse except for the insertion on regular tv, language freedom, both intellectual and profane and anything goes that can be left to the imagination, but is that freedom, and if it is, then it’s definitely not democracy. What’s freedom in a country that cannot nor willingly change even when the politics never work in conjunction with its own laws and principles?

The disclosures of Wikileaks and “whistleblowers” alike, ala Ed Snowden, have only put a dent in the public’s recognition of how important any one leak or disclosure is. In other words, we hear about the massive train wreck but not how it happened nor how to prevent it. We hear that there has been massive spying worldwide by all the powers that be, but we the public, really have no way to prevent it from happening or stop it from happening at all, so it’s seen as more of a  form of entertainment with a now faceless, obscure citizenry which has become fascinated by its own self -oppression. At some point, a true fascist society contributes to its own demise by valuing that belief that suppresses them.

The media will not tell you what’s wrong with the system, it simply exposes what it believes will tickle our fancy, both intellectually or culturally. And, if it gives us that rare glimpse into the inner workings of how or what the power structure is doing, we want to believe that it is an anomaly at worst so we do not have to fully accept its consequences.  The problem with the media and our relationship to it is that we are being given a recipe on how this particular democracy works and we don’t seem to care that it’s not the recipe we think we’ve been cooking up all these years, so we don’t pay attention to it.

We’ve reached the point in our intellectual development where we think knowledge is a tool and is as relevant as we want to make it. Knowledge comes with a price, and that price makes it so easy to become complacent. We can let others do our thinking for us, telling us what is true and what isn’t. Accepting authority until something seems not quite right, but by that point we can’t reverse what has already happened or go back down the path from whence we came which would be a perfectly natural thing to do if one is lost. And we are lost. We have allowed others to choose for us. We’ve become spoiled and arrogant by assuming that someone else will save us from ourselves or in many cases believing we don’t need saving. Yes, the sandwich board warning, “The World is Coming To An End” has been around for a long time, the Old Testament might have started it off, and the Plague and Invasions of Heathens during the Middle Ages and beyond certainly fed the prognosticators with reality. Of course, with all these temporary historical facts came the Solvers or Authorities who because they were around at the right time, right place said they were the reason things got better when everyone else thought they would not. They said they prayed to God who helped us or outright killed the nuisance, whether the nuisance was the Devil, the Witch, the People next door, or Over the Hills, or Behind the Sun, the Unbelievers.

So, we went on. Accepted a new truth until a new virus, a new enemy came upon us. Democracy came along and now we believe we have choices, pick your poison, but you can’t opt out or try and find a solution outside the “chosen” one because it either costs too much or it’s not where the society is going. It doesn’t have anything to do with whether or not it does or doesn’t work, or “makes sense” enough to be considered.

Most of our technology has arisen out of the mental workings of ordinary working people putting their social heads together, helping to make their life easier until recent times.  The last couple of centuries much of what we’ve developed has extraneous uses, such as developing the war machine or enabling the ability to sell and consume by adopting economic conditions that cater to the whims of wealthy people who base their principals on ownership. Our Freedom now is relegated to choosing colors, styles, things that have no relevance to what eventually will hurt us. Our science has created wonders to help prevent illness, but it is limited by the availability of money in addition to the fact that much of what kills us or hurts us also originates from the same scientists and its collusion with politics. Science isn’t the innocent working for the helpless. Science and Industry have colluded in Weapons of Mass Destruction, creating high priced options, whether it be cars or medicine, that are unavailable to ordinary people. And we are ordinary people. Be Proud of it. The Salt of the Earth.

We forget that it is ordinary people who have been responsible for the increase in production and development of basic technologies which were usurped by wealthy and greedy people and though some individuals have gotten credit for discoveries, most discoveries have been on the order of Columbus discovering America, I think you know what I mean there. From the containment of fire to the loom or plow, it’s been common people who live and survive where changes really come from, not from the mental musings of politicians, philosophers, priests, scientists, CEO’s, or celebrities.
